Boba Fett ROCKS!

Boba Fett from Star Wars

Yep, it's Boba Fett. Obscure unknown background character to some, idol of undieing worship to others. Back in the early 90's, when Star Wars was just starting to become popular again, to become a born again Star Wars fan was to know Boba Fett. To know Boba Fett was to respect Boba Fett. To Respect Boba Fett was to fear Boba Fett. And that's what made him so cool. That is, back before everyone else caught on to how cool he was. But it was fun for awhile to be one of the few Boba-Fans who knew something that everyone else didn't know.

Than again, maybe it was just the armor and the weapons and the gadgets that made him so cool. Whatever. Anyway, Boba's a fun guy to draw, and I thought I'd give painting him a try.

This was done in the summer of 1999 on cold press illustration board using a technique involving watercolor paints and coloured pencils. Nothing to special about it other than the fact that Boba Fett is just too damn cool, and that there's blue and red light bouncing off him like in the carbon freezing chamber. I forgot if I took the gun from any kind of reference or if I just made it up myself. I remember using an action figure and several comic books as reference along with the standard batch of movie stills. This is just a photograph of the real painting, which is pretty big.

Here, have a close up.
