Shredder Vs Splinter

I did this for one of the Technodrome forums' art challenges in the Spring of 2003, where the subject was simply Shredder Vs. Splinter. I used the character designs from the 2003 animated series as a basis, but as usual I twisted it into my own style in a few spots to have some fun with it. I'm not quite sure if the design of Shredder's back is on model, though. The reference I had used looked something like what you see here, but the action figure, which I didn't have at the time, is totally different.

This was a really quick job with some very rough linework and loosely applied Photoshop colours. There are even a few texture elements, with part of the surface of Shredder's armor coming from digital photos of cookie sheets that I took.

Considering that I threw this together in a couple of hours just because I was bored, I'd have to say that I'm pretty happy with it.

You don't really see a whole lot of TMNT artwork out there that doesn't deal with the Turtles themselves. That's a shame.
