Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece

From the series One Piece comes Monkey D. Luffy here. It was fun to draw in this style because it's such a departure from my own. For the colors I wanted to convey the feeling of a bright sunny day at sea with a simple blue sky, but still have a depth and richness to it rather than just one shade of blue.
I was originally going to just have Luffy giving a thumbs up, but then in looking at some of the reference pictures I was using I got the idea of making him hold a big piece of meat. It filled up the space a bit better and gave the picture some more character.
