Decepticon Pretenders

Decepticon Pretenders

October 2010, Photoshop.

For all the people who say that the original Transformers was the very best (HA!), there was some really weird and wacky stuff! Especially the Pretenders, which was truly bizarre concept. But I'm into that, and the Decepticons has some really interesting monster designs. So here's a digital painting of Bomb-burst, Skullgrin, and Submarauder. Yes, these are actual Transformers characters.

This was painted in Photoshop first using shades of gray, then adding color. Photographic textures were also used. The background is actually some kind of chili or something. This was a lot of fun to paint.

This was done as part of a themed drawing challenge I started on Cybertron.ca. The theme was "Pretenders", so... yeah. What else was I going to draw?
