Ice Dragon

Ice Dragon

For my second dragon in the series, I took inspiration from aquatic lizards and reptiles, specifically the water monitor lizard, since ice is just frozen water.

One of the great things about colouring in Photoshop is that it lets you fix some of the mistakes from the original drawing. I textured the ice chunks in the foreground with my pencils a bit too much, so they looked a bit more like rocks before I put my digital airbrush to it.

You're not seeing things, that is indeed a palm tree in the background. This must be one cold dragon to create an iceberg out of a tropical island! This is what I was talking about when I said that each picture tells a story.

This was finished sometime in the spring of 2000.
