November 13th, 2007

The circumstances surrounding this update are a little different than usual. It's that I don't have anything interesting to share, because I do. But the real reason why I updated the site now is because I changed my webhost. I am now using BlueHost, and I'm very happy with it. I can do much more with it than I could with my previous hosting provider. But, because I made the switch, certain things like the contact page, the Guestbook, the Music player, and the mailing list, didn't work anymore, as they were programmed to work on the previous server. So I had to get to work to fix all of that, and while I was at it, I figured I'd add some more new content to the site as well.

I have 5 new pieces of artwork up. This is pretty much the last of all the older stuff that I hadn't yet added to this site. They are Chupacabra, Jersey Devil, Magenta's Witch Costume, Devil Day, and Generic Anime Extravaganza.

The Music page has been updated with a new playlist and a brand new upgraded player. The player interface as it stands right now is only temporary until I can take the time to really pimp it out and make it look cool.

There's a brand new Guestbook! Almost all of the previous guestbook entries have been carried over, and now for the first time ever, you can go back and read them all, starting from 2000 and onward. Plus, I am now able to leave my own comments on guestbook entries, which I am sure will provide some entertainment. Some of this stuff on the guestbook is really hilarious!

The really big new update is the new Message Board! The old board was lost due to some sort of spam hacking that made it unusable. This, along with the lack of help I received, is a major reason why I left my old host. But since the new host has message boards built right in, I figured why not set up a new board? This board is so much better than the old one. It's got many features, built in categorized avatars (or upload your own), custom smileys, and even a few things that I set up myself that aren't on any other boards of its kind. It's a great board so please post on it!

The links pages are also updated. I think.

That's going to be it for awhile. I would like to do more with this website but it's become pretty apparent that there's a lot of new stuff about web development that I don't know and I'm not sure if I should take the time to learn. We'll see what the future will hold. You can still keep up with what I'm doing by reading my weblog, getting in touch with me through my contact page, signing up to the mailing listdeviantART page. See you some other time.

June 17th, 2007

Well, I had pretty much decided that I was going to leave my website alone for awhile, since it was just taking up too much time to consistently work on. So I let this place collect dust for more than a year. I can't say I'm happy about that, but I don't really know what else I could have done.

However, this doesn't mean that I haven't been busy. I have done a lot of new artwork, and have been posting most of it on my deviantART account.

Today, though, is a special day. Today is the 10th anniversary of my very first website, when I had first started putting my art on the Internet. So there was no way I could let today go by without doing something.

So, I've added 3 of my most favorite pieces of art from the past year to the fan art gallery. Take a look at Transformers Cybertron Forever, featuring Vector Prime, some Nintendo art in the form of Mario & Peach, and Asuka & Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion. This is some of the best artwork I've ever done, and the largest image files I've ever put up here on the site.

I also updated the Music page with an all new playlist.

There are no new articles this time. I love writing them, but they just take up too much time and I don't get very much feedback on them, so I can't justify writing any now. But perhaps someday there will be more. For now just enjoy what is already there.

That's all for now. Please feel free to contact me. Don't forget to sign up to the mailing list if you want to know when the net update will be, because I really don't know when I'll get to it again!

May 25th, 2006

Been a long time huh? Well, I said it would be. As I alluded to in my last update all the way back in December, I wanted to do something else for awhile, and I did. But I still did a little bit of everything else I usually do, which means new stuff for the website! So with Anime North on the way this weekend, I figured now should be the time to get some new updates out there.

Significant updates are in the artwork side of things. We got a pirates and a ninja! Take a good look at my new Luffy and Naruto anime paintings, along with some Art from the 2005 redesign, Cyan Pointing, and Ninja Paintbrush Kid.

Two new articles this time around, and they are big ones. The TransformersCon 2006 Report not only features pictures from this great event, but it also features artwork from a major project I was working on, an 8 page comic for the convention program! Lastly, this is an article that isn't going to make me any new friends in some circles. I explain how there are 8 things that are better than hockey, because I am so annoyed by it. Enjoy the rage!

New songs are up on the music page.

I'm on deviantART now. Don't know how often I'll update it, but keep an eye on it if you're into this sort of thing.

That's it for now. I'm going back to working on something else for awhile. So if you want to talk to me, please do so on the message board. Don't just wait for other people to start talking, do it yourself.

As usual, I welcome all comments and glady spit on insults, so please make use of the contact page and guestbook. See you again some other time.

December 4th, 2005

Well, this update has been in the works for a long time. But as you can see by now, it's for a good reason. I've been working on this for a long while. Pretty much everything has been at least given a facelift, and in many cases completely overhauled. The images on the upper left and right corners of the main page are random, and some will appear more frequently than others. See if you can spot the rare ones!

3 new pieces of artwork. Check out the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles group shot, Super Deformed SkyByte, and the Alien Samurai. Oh, and there is also new artwork scattered all over the site in the form of the redesigned graphics, so enjoy those as well.

3 new articles are up as well. Delve into the seedy world of Funny Asian Bootleg Robots, read all the happenings at last summer's 2005 Canadian Nation Expo, and see the life and legacy of the great Bruce Lee exploited in a terrible yet hilarious Kung-Fu movie, Fist of Fear, Touch of Death.

New playlist on the music page, with an upgraded music player, higher quality sound files, and one of 3 random backgrounds!

Who is Ninjatron, What is SykoGrafix, Frequently Asked Questions, and the Links pages have all been updated extensively. Also check out all the new buttons and banners on the Link to SG page.

I could have done much of this update about a month ago, but wanted to redesign the site and put it into a condition that I was happy with so I could leave it alone.

Yep, I'm leaving the site alone now. This is pretty much going to be the end of things for the foreseeable future. I've had a lot of fun working on this website, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who has visited, but the time has come to move on and seriously work on something else. I really don't get much of anything out of updating this site anymore. The site is not going to be shut down or anything, and things like the message board and the weblog will continue of course, and maybe the music page as well but instead of 4 to 6 updates a year, it'll probably trickle down to 1 or 2 updates instead, or maybe the updates will be much smaller. So make sure you sign up to the mailing list if you want to know when the site is updated.

I honestly can't see myself updating things like artwork and articles very much anymore. It just takes too long, and I'd rather start spending that time on a personal project. No, I won't tell you what the project is or how it's going, so please don't ask. I will still be around to talk to though, so don't be shy.

Let me clarify by saying that my decision was not influenced by anything that anyone else said or did. It is my own choice to leave the site for awhile. But, don't worry. I like to think that any lack of activity here on this website will eventually be for the greater good. Give me about a year's time and I hope you'll see what I mean. So, until we meet again, whenever that may be...

August 2nd, 2005

A light update in terms of Artwork this time around, but there are two new entires. First up is a fairly straightforward portrait of Skeletor from Masters of The Universe, and next is "OMG Webcomic!!!111", a piece that bares some explanation, so please read the included text.

But it's the Articles section that's getting a big boost with 3 huge brand new articles making their debuts. The video game insanity returns in the long awaited Volume 2 of FreakyNES! There's plenty of convention madness featured in the Anime North 2005 report, complete with photo gallery. And lastly, one of the most controversial things I've ever written, a gigantic 2 page account of an epic battle that happened one year ago called "Ninjatron Sucks at Drawing Transformers" (For Mature Audiences Only). You may remember reading some of the beginning of this story on my weblog. Now you can find out exactly what happened! I'm a bit nervous about what the reaction to that last one might be, but by all means let me know what you thought of it.

The Music section has been updated with a new playlist.

Where I go with this webpage from here is going to be, at least in part, determined by the reaction I get from this update. If you want to see more art, more FreakyNES, more con reports, more crazy stuff, more anime, and so on, please tell me. The best place to do that is on the Message Board. Please discuss this new update as well as anything else regarding the website, because that will help me to make some important decisions regarding the future of SykoGrafix. Thanks.

May 25th, 2005

Time to work on this site has been at a premium recently, but I did my best to have new stuff ready within two months from the last update, and thankfully I made it.

In the artwork side of things, I have two new pieces based on the works of Osamu Tezuka. Take a look at Black Jack and AstroBoy.

For articles, here's a new anime DVD review, Knights of Ramune. Just a warning, this one is not for the kids! Also up is the long awaited report on TransformersCon 2005!

A new playlist has been added to the Music page. In addition to the usual batch of anime music and Japanese pop and rock songs, there's some really exciting rare music up there as well.

Please enjoy and let me know what you think. I always appreciate it.

March 25th, 2005

Damn, this update was a long time coming. I really should have updated 2 or 3 times since the last update. Geez, last time I said I wanted to have a new update in a month, and it's now several months later. That's embarrassing. Well, things came up, there were circumstances, blah blah blah, you don't care, and I don't want to talk about it. Let's move on, shall we?

New artwork. Finally got some new stuff done after taking some time off. Take a look at Optimus Prime from Armada and a new design for Amber.

New articles. Here's my Star Wars Collection and a crazy political spoof about how I should Rule the Earth. Both of these articles were huge projects that took much longer to finish than they should have, but I hope the results are worth it.

Links have been updated quite a bit.

New Music, even? Yeah, finally!

The Guestbook had to be shut down for awhile, but I fixed it and updated it a bit. Please sign it and help fill it back up to where it should be.

I think that's it for now. Toronto people, I'll see you at the cons.

September 19th, 2004

As promised, an update for September. It's a fairly small update this time, but there's new stuff all the same. The next update, which I hope to have up next month, should be a bit bigger.

To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Transformers. I've put up a new piece of Fan art, featuring one of the more popular characters of the current series, Energon. It's Strongarm! While you're at it, take a look at some of the other Transformers pieces you'll find there.

The Canadian National Expo 2004 report is also up and running, so give that a read and look at all the pictures I snapped in the accompanying photo gallery. This is the 4th National Expo I've covered on SykoGrafix, and the 4th convention I've covered this year. That should probably be the end of convention season for me this year, but we'll see about that.

The Link to SykoGrafix page has been updated with some new images. If you've got a website I'd appreciate it if you would use one of these pictures to link to SykoGrafix.

There is no update to the Music section this time. It will be updated next time to give the current playlist a full two month rotation. So listen to it now while you still can!

Thanks to everyone who has supported this website with their feedback, and extra shiny special thanks goes out to the recent rash of punks and idiots, who have nothing better to do than insult me, for making life interesting.

See you on the board.

August 15, 2004

I had planned to update a couple of weeks ago, but was delayed due to some computer issues. Any way, I now have two new computer systems and things are back in full swing. To make up for the delay, I hope to have another update next month, but we'll see how that goes.

SykoGrafix celebrated its 7th anniversary on June 17th of this year, which was also my 24th birthday! Damn, I've been around for a long time.

Two new pieces of Fan art this time around. They're both paintings of anime characters similar to what you have seen here before. Check out Inu Yasha and Amidamaru and Yoh from Shaman King.

There are two more new articles as well. My Anime North 2004 report is up as promised, and take a look at the long awaited sequel to the beloved Spider-man Action Figure 4 pack article, Son of the Spider-man Action Figure 4 pack.

New playlist on the Music page. Should I indeed do a new update next month as planned, then this playlist will remain the same for that update and change again the next time.

Finally, the Cool Sites page has been given a fairly through cleaning. Got rid of some old, outdated links and put up a few new ones. Please let me know if you find any cool sites that you think I would like.

Please post your thoughts about this update, or anything else you'd like, on the message board. Tell me what you liked and what else you'd like to see. I'll be reading it and I look forward to talking with you.

As usual, I'll be attending the Canadian National Comic Book/Sci Fi/Anime/Horror Expo on August 27-29th. If you see me there, come on over and say hi, and maybe I'll draw something for you.

May 30th, 2004

This time I've got some new artwork for you all. And by new I actually mean NEW and not just old junk that I never did anything with until now. In the originals section we have a seated group shot of the 3 girls, which is a better look at the image currently on top of the main index page, and a series of digitally painted portraits. In fan art, please welcome the thug beating, hockey mask wearing friend of the Ninja Turtles, Casey Jones.

Couple new articles as this time as well. As promised, here's my "report" on the Toronto Anime Con from March, and the first volume of what I hope to be a reoccurring feature on this site, a look at some messed up Nintendo Entertainment system games that I like to call FreakyNES. Next update: Anime North 2004 report.

The music page has also been updated. Check out the new playlist and jam along to the tunes as you look at all this crazy new stuff.

See you on the message board Let me know what you think.

Bam! A brand new section to the website has been added! Check out the music page and listen while surfing SG!

If you've been reading my web log, then you probably know that I've been dealing with a very sore wrist for the last several months. This has prevented me from doing much in the way of new artwork. So this time I dug up the last of the semi-interesting old pieces that I had not put on the site yet. Check out Girl with Destroyed Robot and Dinosaur Egg. I hope to be able to start doing new artwork soon.

Two New articles: The Mysterious Pile of Comic Books and TransformersCon 2004 report. Coming up next will be the Toronto Anime Con 2004 report.

I'm pretty sure that I updated the links.

Oh yeah, and I redecorated the main index page too. Like it?

Please visit the message board and discuss this update, or anything else for that matter.

Sayonara.

January 14th, 2004

Not much in the way of new artwork this time, but New SG Design art and Holiday Amber have been added to the Original Gallery.

But two new major entires have been made to the articles section. Take a look at the Montreal Expo 2003 report, and a funny look at Super Sentai World!

I invite everyone to discuss anything regarding this update on the message board. Tell me what you liked, what you'd like to see more of, or whatever else relating to any of these updates. And, of course, you can talk about anything else you want on the board too. There's some great topics going, so dive right in.

There's some new images on the Link 2 SykoGrafix page. If you're an artist, send me your banner so I can link to your site.

December 17th, 2003

Happy Holidays. I put up some decorations. How do you like them?

Here's what's new today.

New Art additions: Hallowe'en Girls (from the October main index design), Lina Inverse, Gorilla, and Earth with signal light.

New Article: C-DOGS, the best computer game you've probably never played!

Check out the message board, I've added some new stuff and the pace has really picked up recently. That's really been the best place to get ahold of me lately.

October 10th, 2003

This update really should have happened a long while ago. I apologize, but it was out of my hands. Just a few days after the date below, my second hard drive went down and in a vain attempt to fix it (that I had nothing to do with), just about everything was lost, including several art pieces. Not only that, but I lost a lot of my motivation. Of course, I am also back at college (though I'm not exactly happy about it) and so time to work on the site's content is at a premium.

But, no matter, we got new stuff now so let's get to it.

Hallowe'en is a very important time for SG. October 31st, 2000, was the first time I opened this domain up for public viewing. Appropriate, yes? So, in that spirit, I did a Hallowe'en design for the front page. Hope you enjoy it!

New art - Villains rule! Shredder vs Splinter and 4 Megatrons are ready for viewing. I wanted to have both of these up over the summer, but obviously it couldn't happen like that. Luckily I was able to salvage enough from the wreckage of my hard drive to make these additions.

New Articles - The long awaited Canadian National Comic Book/Sci Fi/Anime Expo report is ready. Also, if you're an artist that has ever been insulted, or if you've ever done the insulting, then you should check out the hilarious and ironically spiteful think-piece I call Stupid People HATE Ninjatron!

The FAQ has been updated and reorganized.

Added a few new Transformers themed link images. Cool Sites, Fellow Artists, and Webrings have also been updated.

Remember, signing up to the mailing list not only lets you know about new updates, but also sneak peeks at upcoming additions as well!

I think that's it, but maybe I forgot a few things. Go take a look around. Hope to see you on the message board. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the support, everyone. I hope to have something else up next Month. Until then...

July 14th, 2003

365 days and several headaches later, Beautiful Digital Chaos once again rises from the ashes to declare war on the status quo of the Internet!

For those of you who have been here before, welcome back. Glad to have you here again, and I appreciate your patience and support. For those who are seeing SykoGrafix for the first time, thanks for checking this out, and I hope you stick around for awhile.

I'll skip further formalities and talk about what's new.

Everything is new.

Ok, fine. I'll be a bit more specific.

Artwork - Now divided into 3 sections. Just about all of the art that was once part of the site has been updated as new, bigger, higher quality image files. There are some new pieces as well.

Articles - Read about my convention adventures at Canadaian National Expo 2002 and Anime North 2003. Plus, check out my review of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker on DVD.

Message Board - Aww yeah. I've got big hopes for this board. Talk about anything you want and post your own artwork. There are over 150 pre-installed avatars to choose from. It's just getting off the ground here, so please don't be shy. Take the first step and post!

Weblog - You may have read this already, as I've made it the jewel of the main index. The weblog is going to be updated indepentantly of the rest of the site any time I have something to say. Feel free to respond at any time via the message board.

Links - Totally revamped with lots of new additions. All new buttons and banners to Link to SG. I am looking to do some link exchanges, esspecially with some fellow artists.

Everything else - What is SykoGrafix has been updated to better reflect what this site is all about. The FAQ has been updated to better reflect some of the things people have asked me or might ask me. Who is Ninjatron has been updated to better reflect my current elective lack of hair.

The old background with the scrolling binaries is gone. I know it was popular but it was more trouble than it was worth.

I've got a few more art pieces ready to go, but they will have to wait for the next few updates. Until then, please sign up for the Mailing List so you won't miss a thing! I may just have some suprises in store for those subscribers!

So, after you've seen all of the sights, how about letting me know what you think? Please post on the message board, sign the guestbook, and contact me. Let me know if you uncover any bugs. Thanks.

I'll be around on AOL Instant Messenger this week so try to catch me if you can.
